Lady Panthers Advance to Regional with Third-Place Finish at Sectional

The Jennings County Girls Golf team turned in a strong performance at the IHSAA Sectional hosted by Madison Consolidated High School at Sunrise Golf Course on Saturday, September 20. The Lady Panthers finished third overall with a team score of 436, securing their spot in next weekend’s Regional at Franklin. Madison Consolidated captured the team title with a score of 342, while Switzerland County placed second at 403. Jennings County’s third-place finish was highlighted by a standout round from junior Grace Oden, who posted a 91 to finish third overall in the individual standings. Other Panther scores included: Amilia Gresham – 111 Temprance Eggleston – 115 Shelby Klescht – 119 Victoria Baez – 125 The Lady Panthers’ consistency across the lineup proved to be the difference, as their balanced team effort allowed them to advance over Southwestern (Hanover) and several other competing schools. The Regional will be held next Saturday at The Legends Golf Club in Franklin, where Jennings County will compete for a chance to qualify for the IHSAA State Finals.
