Panthers Take Down Roncalli, 48-45

The Jennings County Panthers hosted the Roncalli Royals on Tuesday night and delivered an impressive performance. Facing a Roncalli team ranked #3 in Class 3A, the Panthers pulled out a thrilling 48-45 victory to secure a signature win. The Panthers came out hot, jumping to an early 10-3 lead following a three-pointer from Hayden Lowe. Jennings County held a 12-10 advantage at the end of the first quarter, but Roncalli closed the period with a run and carried that momentum into the second. The Royals continued to push the pace and went into halftime holding a 25-21 lead. Jennings County entered the fourth quarter trailing 38-30 but quickly flipped the momentum, opening the period on an 8-0 run to tie the game, capped by an and-one from Johnny Elkins. With the score knotted at 48, the Panthers forced a crucial turnover with 14 seconds remaining. Jeremiah Davis then knocked down a free throw with seven seconds left to give Jennings County the lead. After securing an offensive rebound on the second free throw, Hayden Lowe sealed the game at the line, sinking two free throws as the Panthers pulled out a dramatic 48-45 victory. The Panthers were led in scoring by Jerry Davis with 19 points, while Johnny Elkins chipped in 11.
