The Jennings County Lady Panthers traveled to Madison Consolidated High School on Thursday night to face the 7-1 Lady Cubs and turned in another impressive performance. Battling a talented Madison squad, the Lady Panthers controlled the game and pulled away for a convincing 50-38 victory, continuing their strong run this season. Jennings County got off to a shaky start, struggling with turnovers in the opening minutes, but the Lady Panthers quickly settled in and found their rhythm. A dominant 16-2 run in the first quarter propelled them to a 16-9 lead at the end of the period. From there, they never relinquished the lead, carrying a 26-16 advantage into halftime. The momentum continued in the second half, as the Panthers maintained a double-digit lead for most of the game and closed out with a 50-38 victory. It was a balanced scoring effort for Jennings County, led by senior Mollie Ernstes with 15 points and junior Etta Young with 14. The Lady Panthers were efficient offensively, shooting both 50 percent from the field and from beyond the arc. While turnovers were an issue at times, Jennings County made up for it with a strong defensive performance, forcing turnovers of their own and holding Madison to just 38 points.
